THE oppressed situation of the Sugar planting interest of the British Colonies, induces us, who have hereunto set our names, to desire a MEETING of the Sugar Planters of the Island on Thursday the 15th day of November, at the King's Arms in Spanish-Town, at Nine o'Clock in the Forenoon, upon matters of the highest importance to their welfare.

TO BE SOLD,
A MOUNTAIN POLINK in the parish of St. Catherine, commonly called and known by the name of HEALTHFUL HILL, adjoining on Mr. JOHN GARDNER MILLWARD, with or without ten or twelve NEGROES, and within seven miles of Spanish-Town:—it commands Old-Harbour, likewise a pleasant prospect of the Pens, &c. about Spanish-Town. There is on the premises a great variety of Fruit Trees, as likewise a great quantity of Coffee, Ground Provisions, and Plantain Walks.

RAN AWAY some time ago, a negro boy of the Chambo country, named TOM, marked on one of his shoulders C. G. with a diamond between, he is well known in Kingston, and Spanish-Town, having waited on the subscriber upwards of two years. Any person who will secure the above negro, and deliver him to the subscriber, shall receive ONE PISTOLE reward, and all reasonable charges.

NOTICE is hereby given, to any Persons having Demands against the Estate of Mr. JOHN BURKE, late of St. Thomas in the Vale, Tavern-keeper, deceased, to render in a State of the same to his Executor Mr. JOHN WILLIAMS of Spanish-Town, Carpenter; and those who are indebted thereto are requested to discharge the same, so as to enable the said Executor to pay off the most pressing and prior Creditors, without Suit or Trouble to either Party.

THE Creditors of Abraham Tavares, jun. are earnestly requested to meet Mr. Bernal, the surviving assignee, at Mr. Allen's tavern, on Thursday morning the 29th of November next, when matters of very serious consideration will be laid before them, relative to the securing part of their very extensive demands against the said Tavares. It is therefore hoped all the creditors will make a point of attending with an exact state of their respective demands.

ALL Persons who have any Demands against the Estate of Mr. James Ore, late Copper-smith, deceased, or against the late Copartnership of Ore & Halbert, are requested to render in their Accounts, that they may be settled and paid; and those who are anyways indebted to said Estate or Copartnership, are also requested to be speedy in their Payments to Mrs. Ore at White River in St. George's, who is properly authorised to give Discharges for the same, or to the Subscriber in St. Thomas in the Vale.—As Mrs. Ore proposes leaving the Island early in the Spring, it is hoped that no further Intimation will be required.
The Subscriber likewise begs leave to inform the Public, and his Friends, that he has purchased the Negroes, Stock in Trade, &c. of the said James Ore, and proposes carrying on the Business as usual, both at North and South Side.

TAKEN UP on this estate, a stout new-negro man quite naked, has no mark, can speak no English, his country unknown, as no negro can be found that understands him; by cold and bad usage before he was taken up, he got contracted in his limbs, which renders him incapable of walking, otherwise would have sent him to gaol. Whoever owns him may have him by proving his property, and paying for this advertisement, and other incident charges—Apply at the above estate to

Kingston, Nov. 3d, 1781.
RAN AWAY, about six weeks since, a negro man named LORRAIN, alias LAWRENCE, about 5 feet 2 inches high, strong and well made; he is marked on the right breast with some letters which are not recollected, and a part of his right ear cut off; he generally wears a handkerchief round his head, is well known in Spanish Town and Kingston, and lately returned from the expedition against Fort St. Juan. It is supposed he will attempt to pass for a free man, as he speaks French and English with considerable fluency—It is requested that all masters of vessels may be careful that he does not prevail on them to take him off the island. A reward of TWO POUNDS will be paid for apprehending him, on applying at the Custom House, to
