In the name of God Amen. The third day of October in the year of our Lord God one thousand six hundred Seaventy One I William Gordon Gent being of perfect mind and memory, thanks be to God therefore, calling to mind the mortality of my body, and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to dye, do make and ordain this my last will and Testament in manner and form following that is to say, first and principally I give my Soul into the hands of God that gave it me, only for my body, I commend it to the Earth to be buried in Christian and decent manner nothing doubting but at the generall Resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God. And as touching such worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this life, I give, bequeath and dispose the same in manner and forme following. First I give and bequeath unto my loving Cousin Alexander Gordon Merchantaylor in [Dover?] Lane London the summe of Twenty pounds and to his wife Jane the summe of Twenty pounds as a token of my love, and to his Son John Gordon Merchant the summe of Ten pounds and to my Cousin Jane [?] Daughter to the said Alexander Gordon I give and bequeath Twenty Pounds and to the other foure of her children now living I give and bequeath five pounds unto each And to my loving Friend John Alexander I give and bequeath five pounds to buy a ring. All the rest and residue of my Estate I give and bequeath unto my brother John Gordon of Sutherland in Scotland he not surviving me unto the most of kindred to mee I give and bequeath unto the Scottish Corporation settled in London the summe of ten pounds to be deducted out of my Estate. And of this my Last will and Testament I make and ordaine my Cousins Cousin Alexander Gordon and good friend John Alexander to be my overseers for disbursments my estate as above mentioned. And I do hereby utterly disallow revoke and annull all and every other former Testament Wills Legacies bequeathes and Overseers by me in any wise before this named willed and bequeathed ratifying and confirming this and none other to be my Last will and Testament In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seale the day and yeare abovementioned. the marke of Wm Gordon, Signed sealed published pronounced and Declared by the said Wm Gordon as his last will and Testament in presence of Andrew Woodrow Wm Bannister.
